The well known betting exchange betfair has entered into the lucrative poker room market last summer. I wanted to play in this poker room sooner but had problems downloading the software, my firewall and I think Norton Antivirus caused this to fail, it took me a while to find this out so meanwhile Betfair lost my business for a few months, I am unaware whether this has been solved or not but I am guessing it has.

On reviewing site again and note they have made some improvements such as the ability to record notes and view stats. They currently have notes for players as an option on the bottom left of table screen via a listbox of players. I advised Betfair that it would be better if they went the same route of other sites and allowed accessing of notes via the right click button. I have been informed that they are likely to do this over the coming weeks in one of their software updates.

Unfortunately I am still having time lag issues, this seems to occur to me when I have either other poker sites open, or when I have done a few different activities within the Betfair Poker room itself such as opening and closing tables while searching for a game to play in. In order to avoid a time lag in a game it appears that I need to just have Betfair Poker open, if I have open and closed a few tables, I need to log out and log back in, not really ideal to put it mildly.

This is something which I have advised them that they should be giving top priority to resolve and I gather they are taking my opinions on board. I gather also that I am not alone with these issues. I have been told by Betfair to have the latest windows updates and latest DirectX, my PC is regularly updated, so this should not be an issue whatsoever and I really don't think having or not having the latest updates should be an issue that could potentially cost you money on a site in the first place. Other than that site looks slick - I really like the graphics, it appears it will be a great place to play in the near future but for me this issue still hangs over the site's head.

One important thing to note here is the fact that this site is in it's infancy. Betfair must be one of the largest online gambling web sites before they entered the poker room market so they will already have a massive client base. This should translate into plenty of newbies giving poker a shot since they already have an account so they should be plenty of good action here. Overall I recommend the site if this issue doesn't effect you, for those like me whom it does then if you are prepared to log in and out and not have other poker sites open though annoying it may still be worth your while due to the amount of newbies on it.
